Holy Smokes! Remember last week I told you that my birthfather had a junior and I was going to find him?
Well, outta curiosity, I looked him up on Facebook today and there he is!!
I sent a message to his wife to see if we can reconnect! But I digress...here's how it went down before (20 years ago!)
I was able to look him up in the phonebook! He has a very distinguishable name...so I called, and I spoke with his wife (who was VERY kind) and explained the situation.
I think he had some drama in the family at the time and was hesitant, but eventually we met.
We sat and talked at a Burger King (right? Of all places? Hey, I wasn't always a health coach lol) and we talked timelines and just chatted about life, and then we went our separate ways. ::poof::
I think I sent him a Christmas card one year, but other than that, I think because 20 years had gone by, and because he never knew me in his life as his sister, that we both just didn't pursue anything.
It's not sad, it's not happy, it's just Meh.
So we'll see how this Facebook friend invite goes :) It's a strange thing when you're in this kind of place. It really makes you wonder why God put these people in your life.
So...I'm gonna find out :)
Yeah, I know that's not olive oil. I know it's not coconut oil either.
I do want you to pay particular attention to this picture because it represents you in a way.
You are a vessel. You are a machine. You are a vehicle.
BUT You are NOT made of metal or plastic!! You are made of cells and flesh. Your body is 57-60 percent water! You don't need lubrication!
It will surprise some of you to learn that putting oil in your body is NOT a healthy thing to do.
First, oil is a highly refined food. All of the good parts (the fruit or vegetable matter) have been taken away and usually it's been heated and disinfected.
Second, the problems with oil are 2 things:
1) Oil causes your blood vessels to shrink for four hours after you ingest it.
2) Oil disrupts the endothelium (the tissue that lines the blood vessels, heart and lymphatic vessels)
Please watch the following video. It is by a Cardiologist who still practices, Dr Caldwell Esselstyn Jr. who has actually been able to take a blood vessel that had shrunken and almost died and make it whole again thru diet.
I'm sure he's done this many times since this original occurrence, but here's the first picture I saw, and it is ridiculously impressive!
Here's his video about the diet he did this with :)
This is also a VERY helpful link if you're thinking: Well, what do I do then??
