And I whacked off all my hair!
Whaaaaat??? LOL Sometimes ya gotta do some changeups!
So it's been a month and a half since my last blog. Some of you know that I run a vegan daycare in my home.
Let me tell you, settling in 2 infants has taken up MORE than the time I have to blog LOL
It appears as if they're getting on some kind of schedule now, so I should be able to keep this going at least once a week :)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE and for remembering just who the heck I am :)
I'll continue with the birthstory on my next blog. At this point, I bet some of you have some questions!
PLEASE leave comments/questions or message me! I know my situation can be confusing- can be for even ME sometimes
I'd like to make sure we're all on track :)
And no, this is not actually about nuts.
Well, it is in a way...
This post is about food allergies!
Just yesterday, as a matter of fact, I witnessed a food allergy in a 10 month old (and then got vomited on lol)
It's really not funny tho...it's a very scary situation. Only a couple of bites into his homemade mashed potatoes, his face broke out in little white dots and red spots.
I notified his parents and got permission to use the zyrtec he came with (because he also has another allergy to eggs)
and then....he projectile vomited the zyrtec and everything else in his stomach. We were very lucky that this was the extent of this particular problem.
Today he's back to normal. It got me thinking about food allergies and some information I learned about in Integrative Nutrition, and I wanted to share that information with you.
What I learned was that a high fiber diet may eliminate food allergies! Let me snag some of the info I learned from for you:
This may not help everyone, but if it can help only a few people or babies, I've done my job!
If you haven't ever tried lentils (and that may sound silly to some, but before this health journey I had not!) YOU MUST!!!
High in fiber, iron, folate....Dr Greger of "How not to die" says it's quite possibly the most healthy food you can eat!
Plus, when you eat them in this recipe I'm going to give you, you get curcumin as well- also known as turmeric.
Turmeric has received a lot of attention lately for its health properties...the biggests being pain relief and anti inflammation!
Check this out: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-662-turmeric.aspx?activeingredientid=662
It's used to fight SEVERAL maladies!
Ok back to the recipe :) This is by Ground Leaf, who has some phenomenal pictures, and if you look on youtube, you can find this recipe in video form! Happy Eating!
PS- If you can't find mung beans, we get sprouted mungbeans thru www.vitacost.com :)
